UDT Asia, the international conference and exhibition for undersea defence technology, will next be staged alongside the leading Asian naval show, IMDEX Asia in May 2011. The move follows consultation between UDT organisers Clarion Events, the Singapore Navy and other stakeholders.
Tim Porter, Managing Director, Clarion Defence & Security, said, ‘UDT Asia was originally scheduled to take place in September 2010 but the opportunity to run alongside IMDEX Asia was too good to miss. South East Asia is one of the world’s most important regions for maritime traffic. As a result, security – both surface and undersea – is a top priority. Bringing together all the latest products and technologies – together with a highly influential conference – under one roof will be enormously beneficial for all concerned. Both UDT and IMDEX are fully supported by the Singapore Navy and collectively we shall have even greater leverage in attracting senior naval personnel from across the region.’
He continued, ‘The two events last ran alongside each other in 2002 – 2003, creating what was widely regarded as one of the strongest and most successful editions to date. We have every confidence that the formula will work again.’
UDT Asia and IMDEX Asia will take place at the Changi Exhibition Centre, Singapore from 18 – 20 May 2011.
